Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the MotoBox mobile application (“App”) or accessing our website (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and MotoBox (“we,” “our,” or “us”).

2. Description of Services

MotoBox provides the following services to Indian vehicle owners:

  • Vehicle RC Lookup: Search for vehicle registration certificate details using a vehicle's number plate.
  • Challan Check: Look up pending traffic challans associated with a vehicle number.
  • Fuel Prices: Real-time petrol and diesel prices across Indian cities.
  • GloveBox: Access to digital documents through DigiLocker integration.
  • My Garage: Vehicle management with insurance, PUCC expiry tracking, and service reminders.
  • FASTag: Check FASTag balance and transaction details.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. User Accounts

  • You may sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep your account information up to date.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

5. Data Sources and Accuracy Disclaimer

Vehicle registration details, challan information, and related data are sourced from government databases, specifically from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) / Vahan and Parivahan portals.

Important disclaimers regarding data accuracy:

  • Vehicle information is provided “as is” and is sourced from government databases. We do not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this information.
  • Fuel prices are sourced from publicly available data and may not reflect the exact price at every fuel station.
  • Challan information may not include all pending challans, especially those recently issued.
  • FASTag balance information is indicative and may not reflect the most recent transactions.
  • We recommend verifying critical information (such as insurance validity or challan status) directly with the relevant government authorities before making any decisions based on it.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Use the Services to harass, stalk, or harm another individual
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other accounts, or computer systems
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Services without our written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Services
  • Use vehicle information obtained through the Services for illegal purposes, including but not limited to stalking, harassment, or identity theft
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit data obtained through the Services
  • Overload, disable, or impair the proper functioning of the Services

7. Intellectual Property

The Services, including all content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software), are owned by MotoBox and are protected by Indian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • MotoBox shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses.
  • MotoBox shall not be liable for any damages arising from your reliance on vehicle information, challan data, fuel prices, or any other data provided through the Services.
  • MotoBox shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by government database downtime, data provider outages, or delays in data updates.
  • Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to the Services shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or INR 1,000, whichever is greater.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any information provided through the Services.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

You may delete your account at any time by going to Menu > Delete Account in the App, or by emailing support@motobox.app. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MotoBox, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, India. Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at support@motobox.app.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after any changes indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
